James, Hoa, Amin, and I spent the weekend sport climbing in the Blackall Mountains. Finding the crag can be tricky, so James provided me with a handy map.
The first climb I did was a lead up Minotaur, an overhang beginning in the Serpent’s Mouth. Overhangs are a weakness of mine, so I found it a difficult lead despite the great holds. Next, we hit up Bad Bolts, a less challenging route.
On Sunday, we did two more climbs and hit the road just before sunset.
In lead climbing, everything seems relative. Easy climbs still take time because, despite the plethora of great holds, I’m always searching for the most conservative route.
