I joined the Rotaract Club of South Brisbane a month ago. Today we were fundraising at the Home Festival, a community market in Kangaroo Point. I left impressed with the generosity of Australians. Hundreds of community members chipped in to help a child get the surgery she needs.
The Rotary Club of Woolloongabba had a station displaying the contents of the Shelter Box, which includes a massive tent, ten sleeping bags, a stove, and numerous other items. The Rotarians raise money to purchase these boxes, and airlines offer to deliver them to areas recovering from natural disasters. They provide quick shelter, often before governments can respond.
