My colleagues and I developed a site plan for the currently vacant lot at SE 3rd & Clay. Located in the heart of Portland’s Industrial Sanctuary, the site presented many challenges, including zoning, parking, traffic, and noise.
We redesigned the site to take advantage of the opportunities afforded to the unique location. Our site plan emphasized accessibility, transit, and maintaining the neighborhood character.

The neighborhood surrounding 240 SE Clay will undergo a significant amount of change with the introduction of the streetcar. The line is expected to attract dense, mixed use development, which will bring new industrial, commercial, and residential opportunities to the area. Our site works to bridge the future and past of the Hosford-Abernethy industrial district.
